ABU DHABIMiral is set to invest more than Dh12 billion across Yas Island over the next five years, launching a major pipeline of tourism, entertainment and hospitality developments.

The programme will include new projects as well as expansions and enhancements to existing attractions across the Abu Dhabi destination. The investment is separate from the previously announced Disney project and forms part of Miral’s contribution to Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030.

The next phase will focus on strengthening Yas Island’s portfolio of theme parks and attractions while introducing new rides and immersive experiences designed to meet changing visitor expectations. Miral will also expand the island’s hospitality offering, with additional hotel rooms planned to broaden and enhance its accommodation portfolio.

Major expansion

The investment will build on Yas Island’s established collection of leisure and entertainment attractions, with developments planned across several areas of the destination.

Miral Chairman Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to Abu Dhabi’s long-term vision and its ambition to continue developing Yas Island as a major international tourism destination.

He said the island has become a global success story, demonstrating the role of world-class experiences in supporting economic growth, enhancing quality of life and strengthening Abu Dhabi’s appeal to visitors from around the world.

Over the five-year period, the programme will introduce new experiences while expanding leisure and hospitality facilities. The developments are intended to respond to evolving visitor demand as Abu Dhabi continues to strengthen its position as an international hub for tourism and entertainment.

New experiences

The Dh12 billion-plus programme is expected to further diversify Yas Island’s attractions and accommodation options, adding to an already established tourism ecosystem.

Alongside new and enhanced attractions, the projects are designed to support employment and skills development within Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector. Miral said the programme will contribute to a future-ready economy while supporting the emirate’s wider ambitions for sustainable growth and economic diversification.

The investment also signals the continued evolution of Yas Island’s leisure and entertainment portfolio, with further attractions and experiences planned as Miral advances its development pipeline over the coming five years.

Hospitality growth

The expansion of hotel capacity will form another key part of the programme, giving visitors more accommodation choices as the island’s attractions continue to grow.

Miral’s latest investment programme adds a new layer to Yas Island’s long-term development, with the company continuing to expand its mix of entertainment, leisure and hospitality experiences across the destination.
